The main effect you are looking for? A better sense of what your natural fullness should be. And some people find their attraction towards large amounts of carbs are withdrawn.
The others? Well, confusion to the point of not remembering your own name, eye pain, numbness in the body, feeling like you are in a fog all day, etc...
An alternative to this is Zonegran. It is another AED (anti-epileptic drug) which seems to have that same effect where it helps you recognize your body's sense of fullness. But it tends to have less horrible side effects.
Ask you doctor, but definitely raise the dosages slowly. (Not all doctors have experience in prescribing these meds)
