I just looked at some pictures I had taken when I was at my worst and compared them to how I look now. I'm actually kind of surprised at what I saw, and didn't see.
I didn't see a big difference, and neither did Scott. The biggest difference is in my arms, legs, chest, all of which are noticeable bigger.
I look much more alive now and not like I'm going to pass out at any second. I'm actually SMILING now, which I never seemed to do back then in pictures.
I'm really surprised at the amount of difference 30 lbs has caused, or didn't cause is more accurate. It's really amazing.
Recently I looked back at the diary I was keeping when I had anorexia as well. The attitude change is amazing as well. It's like night and day almost.
Just wanted to post something positive as I know and remember how hard this time of year can be when you have an eating disorder.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I've always been active, though I never exercised excessively because I "had" to. I'm really in to lifting weights and that has helped me gain weight (enough to where I weigh more than IP said my ideal weight was) and change the distribution of the weight as well.
As for how I got to love myself, I think it has a lot to do with the awesome things I can do in the gym. I'm lifting more now than I ever had. I can deadlift over 150 lbs, which is a feat most girls can't do to begin with.
I appreciate my body more for what it can for me. I also have more or less worked through the reason I had anorexia to begin with which really helped me see myself in a more positive light.
