I have my school prom this week.....and theres gonna be alchol there....It is a really bad thing if I drink? Would it really harm me?

Maybe I'm old school, but yes! If you are going to prom you are certainly not old enough to drink. Wouldn't you rather remember such an important day than have it be a blur? Don't get me wrong, I drink and enjoy it but I also know it makes me more prone to binging and purging as well. Plus, it isn't worth getting in trouble over. Go have fun and your prom and enjoy the memories.

Im old enoug to drink in the UK though. xxxx

Gotcha! LOL. I would still say don't do it. Preserve the memories. People with EDs are more suseptible to other disease (i.e. alcoholism) so if you have the willpower to stay away, you're better off doing so. Have fun!! I'd love to go back to prom again!

I would say to hold off on drinking even though you're of age. I had a lot of fun drinking but it can also lead to major problems and it's not worth it. If you do drink, you need to eat or you'll just pass out and miss the whole prom.

i have bulimarexia, and im a total alcoholic. when i was growing up, i hated alcohol and drugs cuz i was raised by "free spiritS"....meaning gin, but i tell you what, i took that first drink and it made me not care if i ate, what i ate, or how i ate. it felt so good.....that i ended up in rehab three times.....dont do it.

If you are underweight or not eating properly you will not be able to tolerate alcohol as well as other people there. Aside from any moral issues or the fact that you may have an adictive personality, do you really want your memories of the prom to be ones of throwing up on the dance floor, making a fol of yourself and falling over? Cos I've been there and it ain't much fun!

if you are going to drink, make sure you eat a meal before to absorb the alcohol and make sure you know your limit. katiefcked is right, do you really want to have to be embarrased the next day about how you acted in front of all your classmates?

deleted_user
hey i am addicted to both, please don't drink if u can at all help it. it is a daily struggle. hugs!

If you're the sort of person who can pace themselves, then all good. But it's true what ktfckd says, if you're not eating right one drink might be enough to impair your judgement and you may think you're right to have a dozen more! No memory of a spesh night would be sad.

hun if alcohol hurt everyone who drank it hten the world would be non existent....just limit the amount u drink....and have fun! this is ur prom!

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
