I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
To have chantelle pose like that looking happy and laughing (and very slim) with all that food around her, is a clear promotion of a E.D to me ('hey kids, eat what you like and look like chantelle')
even more perversely Chantelle says quite clearly in the article that she 'never did the binging thing' and that she was underweight meaning she didn't actually have bulimia,(I'm no doctor but from what I've read up about it, doesnt it make her anorexic (purging type) or ednos? )So to place her in all that food was even more disgusting. . . I felt like my disease was being exploited here to get headlines, and I know this is probably just irrational on my part, but I felt like they were saying bulimia was a more acceptable eating disorder than anorexia. (Not to mention easier to overcome, she only admitted she had it a week ago) .furthermore, regardless of which eating disorder she had, it still killed me that they thought it was acceptable to publish, and extremely insensitive.
sorry for the rant here, that whole article just really got to me
I'd really like to know what the general population's justification is for "picking on" eating disorders and their sufferers and giving them a bad name or making light of it. Why this, and not cancer? Diabetes?
We really need some major ED-themed organizations to be created so we can teach the public what it's really about. The media needs to stop ridiculing it, and they will, once the public is educated enough.
I think I'm inspiring myself to do something, lol.
