Hello. I am just starting to take Lexapro today. I do not like to rely on pills to help myself, but I have been battling this eating disorder and depression for so long. Other methods have not worked. I am going to try this for a while and hope to get off of it soon. I do not know much about Lexapro. Can someone please share their experiences on it with me? Also, what are the side of effects of the drug?

i have been on lexapro for almost 2 yrs now...i started out on 10 mg a day...and i was then bumped up to 20 mg a day which i am on now....i felt a big positive difference in my mood...and i like the fact that weight gain is not a side effect with this anti depressant like it is with some other anti depressants

I was hesitant about taking medication as well, but I took Lexapro for about 6 months to help with anxiety. It made me feel a lot better and I was able to calm down. I stopped after 6 months because I started to feel a little jittery when I woke up in the morning (my legs would tremor). It's been about a year since I went off. I actually started cymbalta last night, so we'll see how that goes! Best of luck :)

Hi! I have been taking Lexapro for about a year now. Prior to that, I took Paxil. The antidepressant does not take away "feelings", but can help pull you out of feeling really "low". I have found it helpful. It took about a month to really take effect and side effects for me were drowsiness and dry mouth. Both of those have gone away after having the medication in my system. Good luck!

Prozac is the only recommended anti-depressant, I have used it before and it worked really well. I don't know what ED you have, but if it is Bulimia there is a medicine called Topamax that you should ask about, it reduces your cravings to Binge and Purge, I thought that that worked well to

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
