I really wish I knew. I think you have to try and understand why you are binging and what triggers them. Or, failing that, put yourself in a position where you cant binge. Empty the cupboards, dont let yourself be alone-I know that's when I usually binge.

This probably sounds crazy, but I've found recently that keeping my hands busy (ie: knitting, or in my case, making friendship bracelets). I make myself some tea and become totally engrossed. Or if it's daytime, walk. Even if you've started to binge a little, you can still get fresh air and walk for half an hour. Face what's bugging you on the walk, talk it out with yourself. It's just you, ya know. You're the one with the choice. And you need to deal with the consequences of that choice. Don't allow yourself to purge, even if you do go on a binge. Guess what, if you can't get rid of it, you'll start taking in less. Your stomach will shrink and you won't be able to binge like you used to. You might gain a few pounds. But you need to own what you're doing and deal with not getting rid of it. Binging and purging is not reality. I know, I did it for 9 years. Find an alternative. You are ready.

I do a few things. I try to stay away from the kitchen by doing an activity. I also chew lots of gum when I feel like I need to binge ( my jaw usually hurts after awhile though). Another important one for me is not to go grocery shopping when I feel I am gonna binge when I get home. That way I don't have a bunch of food handy. I go to the store when I feel good about myself.

i have the same problem, except I'm not sure how to stop. I was really good and didnt binge for about 4 days and i actually lost 4 pounds bc my body was so not used to it, but then i started again and its worse than ever. How do you train your mind to overcome the urges??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
