i read a book recently calleed "Living without ED", this book refers to an Eating Disorder as "ED", replacing our obsessive and unhealthy thoughts with food as someone called Ed. it talks about divorcing Ed, and how hard it can be.
It made me think of how hard it is for people to get out of abusive relationships, it can be difficult (mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially). is it not the same with Ed!??
How do we do it... the difficult thing with us is that, sure, you can eventually distance a person from your life (have no contact whatsoever), but we cannot do that with food. we need to face food everyday, so we can live. and, sure, often i dont want to live another day, but when i really think about it, i couldnt handle putting my family through dealing with the death of "the baby of the family". i would feel so guilty for making them sad.
so how the hell do we choose? do we put ourselves through our life of misery, just to see mum, dad and our brothers and sisters live their lifes happy? or do we face our demons (Ed) and try to rid our lives of our "best and only friend" forever..

Anorexia/Anorexia Bullimia is NOT YOUR FRIEND, its a BULLY, it needs to be treated like a BULLY, what friend would wish this for you?

No, ED doesn't have to go away. A major shift has to occur to put your relationship with ED in it's proper place. Food is something that is a daily need, but we don't have to face ED every day if we choose to let it go, make peace with it, and let recovery be the basis for our food relationship. (Great book by the way)

i read that story in the hospital i went to.. (man, ive mentioned that hospital in every one of my posts.. maybe because it was so awful i never want anybody else to ever have to experience it.) one night, while i was laying in my bed, i really imagined myself talked to "Ed." i wanted to see if he was real, so i asked him a question.. i asked, Ed, do you think im fat? the IMMEDIENT response was "yes." then, i asked him the same question, only this time i tried not to ignore Ed and let MY OWN MIND answer.. it told me "not at all" and the second i told myself my hand started tingling.. it was my first defeat over Ed in two years. i had just given somebody else this same advice (which is also from that book) about thinking of your body as a small child and your mind as a mother.. would you ever deprive your child of the food they need to SURVIVE?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
