Well I've had b/p for about 10 years now and if I was not puking it up I want to poo it out. I decided to become a Vegan after reading " Skinny Bitch". It a really great book, to help you understand why eating Vegan really helps everything. As you all know pooping becomes a HUGE priority, when you have an ED. When you bringe and pruge and just don't eat... your pooping becomes on- exsistant or VERY infrequent. When you cut out dairy and meat , and try to cut back on sugar. You start pooping like clockwork. everymoring and sometimes 2-3 a day :)
You can eat at "normal times" with the rest of your friends and not feel that you have to pruge cuz you will definitely poop it out the next day. All the bloating goes away and you feel great. Whenever I have a Vegan meal I don;t pruge cause I know it's healthy for my body and I'll get ride of it naturally. And if you start drinking a lot of water you'll poop like a champ!!! It's help me REALLY crub how bad it can be :) Read that book.... it's GREAT !!!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Maybe it will work for some, but bingeing and purging usually doesn't have to do with the food you eat. When I was vegan, I would binge and purge on veggie burgers and soy ice cream- vegan, but I was still bingeing/purging, you know? It's the mental issues that factor in.
Anyway, I'm not trying to take away hope. I apologise for that if it seems like it. I'm glad you have posted your idea, and I hope it works for others as well.
Love, eating disorders aren't about "eating properly." It's about learning to cope with triggers and stressors in your life with positive methods.
However, for an adult that puts in a lot of time and effort, you can learn how to eat in a healthy manner as a vegan. What I was trying to explain to ssnnuugg was that eating disorders don't have to do with eating healthily or not; rather, it's about coping with problems in an unhealthy manner and using food as a drug.
I don't think anybody is trying to pick on you. We are just trying to explain that ED is a mental disease and you have to work out your issues in therapy. It seems that you changed you diet to something that is considered healthy for a healthy person, but the reason you did it is to be able to eat and pretend to others to be healthy, while you are really worried about keeping your weight at an ED level. As far as it looks to me you are still purging.
