some people have recommended things for my son (who has verbal dyspraxia) such as fish or flax oil or cutting out wheat. anyone have any experience with any of those?
also, out of curiosity - how do you get a child to take fish oil? my son is almost 3 and loves chewable vitamins of course, but how can i try fish oil? i think he\'d choke! does flax oil work the same? that i could put in cereal or something.
thanks

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
I agree with Riddles - to boost Omegas you need not have him take fish oil directly, adding fish to his diet (salmon, tuna etc.) on a regular basis WILL make a difference. My family served salmon a couple times a week during my upbringing, so I wasn't really aware of my ADD until later in college when I was no longer getting enough Omega Oils in my diet. It took me many years later to realize that this is what had happened. Since supplementing with Omegas starting last fall my symptoms have nearly vanished and I am living a much more satisfying life because of it (still have work to do, though its a heck of a lot easier with a focused & calmer mind).
You can also introduce a flax cereal such as Flax Plus or Uncle Sam's to his diet. Remember you are his parent, it's up to you to set the diet - not him.
FYI: alot of those chewable vitamins contain excess sugars which is why they love them so much (look for such sugars as fructose, dextrose & maltodextrin on the labels (all 3 are corn sugars).
Refined sugars have a HUGE effect on making the learning disabilities worse. Also any foods he eats that contain TransFats or Hydrogenated Oils will block the absorption of fish oils negating any benefits you hope to acquire - so eliminate those as well from his diet.
The key with the Omega Oil Supplements is to realize that the majority of the US Populations is deficient in them not just those of us with learning disorders. The difference is that we have a more difficult time absorbing & extracting them from our diets thus the reason the supplementation or increase in dietary consumption of them works so well to alleviate the learning disorder symptoms.
I highly recommend you read the book "The LCP Solution".
Note to char: therapy has done some good in my life in the past, however NOTHING comes even close to the miraculous shift in my life that adding Omega Oils has to my life. My life is 360 degrees from where it was just 9 months ago & I expect it will revolve another 360 in the next 9 months.
