Any advice on how to explain to a recently diagnosed 9 year old what dyslexia is? I want to arm her with a kid-friendly answer to have ready when her friends say - so what is dyslexia? I don't want to read her a book about a kid who's been bullied and left out because they can't read like the other kids. Although that is a shame and an awful situation - that is not her situation. She has just now hit a wall in 4th grade when her "tricks" to get around her dyslexia just don't cut it anymore - and now we know what the problem is and are working on it. But I don't know how to help her to really understand what it's all about without using word's like Phoneme Awaremess and brian circuitry - any ideas? Thanks

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
