I didn't find out that I was dyslexic until college and boy did it answer a lot of questions for me. My daughter is now 15 and goes to a private boarding school. I had all A''s and B's in school and so does she. She is brilliant but a REALLY SLOW READER. Like...I am slow and I can read the page twice as fast as her. She has never had any letter flipping, writing problems, bad grades, and she taught herself to read by at age 3. She can't figure out right form left though without holding her hands up to find teh "L". I can't afford testing due to almost bankrupting ourselves to put her in a private school. She doesn't seem to have the same problems as I did so my tricks in school don't seem to be helping her. She is brilliant in math but she gets in trouble for not showing ALL the work or making silly mistakes. Does anyone know of a reliable testing method or is it even necessary to do the testing?
