I have suffered from migraines and vertigo for about 7 years - this was caused by blows to the head. It really got bad 8 mths ago. I was diagnosed recently with migrainal and visual vertigo. Even when I do not have the severe vertigo spins I am so dizzy I have a hard time walking straight. The doctor put me on Nortriptyline. I am up to 30 mgs. I started at 10 and move up when my doctor thinks I need to. I have been taking 30mg for 4 weeks - I seem to be more dizzy and had a horrible vertigo spinning attack for several hours the other day. If this doesn't work they are thinking of putting me on Topomax. I seemed to do better on 20 mgs. Now I am concerned that that the meds are making me worst instead of better. Does anyone have experience with Nortriptyline or Topomax?
