Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. If you are a frequent sufferer of dizziness or vertigo, join the group and find support.

Hello!
I've been dealing with Vertigo and headache since Feb of '07. Since then, i've been told it was allergies and have been treated as such. Of course the problem never went away regardless, but my core question is this. How do you get doctors to actually do something productive about your problem? I've had a head MRI, been put on multiple allergy medications, and basically thrown on the back burner. I can't afford to see a doctor every single time my vertigo pops up and bites me, and they dont seem to understand this. I've seen an ENT, and am going back to a different one soon. Is there something I'm missing or something i'm not saying? I'm not good with doctors to begin with so I thought I would throw it out and see what comes up. Thank you for your time.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Also, instead of just giving symptoms ("the room spins all of the time"), try giving some details about how it is impacting your life -- for example, saying, "I can't work or drive anymore." It may help the doctors to realize exactly how much it is affecting your life.

Read up on migraine associated vertigo. Detailed info here:

Ask your current doctor if he has considered migraine. If he dismisses the possibility out of hand without serious consideration, seek a second opinion.
I will probably ask my ENT for a referal to a neurotologist if I don't get anywhere after this next appointment. Now, in addition to the constant dizziness, I am getting light headed, like I'm going to faint when I stand. This is really getting scary.
They did an ENG to check my balance, eye/ear issues.
Found out I had/have what is called Vestibular Disorder.. I can find the info on it and post the URL if anyone is interested.
After the sessions, I no longer need the use of a walker.
