Dizziness & Vertigo Support Group
Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. If you are a frequent sufferer of dizziness or vertigo, join the group and find support.
Also, why couldn't bppv cause it since it is an inner ear issue? Just curious....
BPPV symptoms are only triggered by specific head movement (head tilt up, lay back in bed, roll toward the affected ear), not by movement of the eye. The head movement causes the displaced crystals to shift so that they either strike the cupula (nerve bundle) or create a wave action in the endolymph fluid that strikes the cupula.

I've been told that in addition to bppv I also may have secondary endolymphatic hydrops. I started a low sodium diet today. In your experience can it be controlled this way and has it ever progressed to full blown menieres? Just a little worried about this. My Dr. tells me it is not menieres but it sure sounds like a close relative when I looked on VEDA's web page. A little too close for my comfort. Curious what your thoughts are about that disorder as I've been focusing soley on the bppv and haven't considered other issues until now.
