I am new to this. I have hardly ever been sick in my 55 years and my first bout with this Diverticulitis knocked my socks off last week. Of course I have never seen a GI doc before so getting an appointment is tuff. The earliest I see the guy I want to see is next month. The ER doc was not much help, but the internet has been helpful. The ER doc put me on antibiotics and told be to stay away from seeds and nutz, but go high fiber. So my high fiber diet started straight away. Of course I found this was a mistake. I only have 1 week of antibiotics and hopefully I will get no recurrence after they are gone. I am still in pain after 5 days, but I have never had Nausea or fever. They detected by means of CT Scan with IV contrast, X-Ray, and my white cell count was a tad high. I am currently on a liquid diet, broth, water, juice. If I do not get into another episode of Diverticulitis how long till I can start doing the high fiber? Thank you, Bob
