Hi All,
I have a question about excessive gas. Before my diverticulitis attack I had several weeks with excessive gas, nausea, indigestion. Since the attack these symptoms persist and I am at a loss as to what to do. Are these symptoms likely indicators of another attack?
What the heck can I eat that will agree with me? Seems no matter what I eat I suffer. I've lost A LOT of weight and would prefer to lose no more.
I want to avoid medicating myself but it seems no matter what I eat I belch and fart and belch and belch and fart ugh....it's disgusting.
I'm sick and exhausted. Thanks in advance for your advice.
BE WELL.

I had the condition diagnosed 3 years ago. There are many wind reducing meds you can get over the counter that help ease the problem initially. Have you spoken to your doctor about your weight loss as it sounds quite serious if you are unable to eat much at all. I have found that Homeopathic remedies work well but you would need to see a trained Homeopath to assertain what would work best for you as we are all individual when it comes to any treatment. All i can say that works for most of s is to drink plenty of water, steer clear of red meat as it is harder to digest. I dont eat any form of red meat now as my condition has increased in its intensity, I no longer drink alchohol as it aggrevates it like crazy. Stress management is a real issue for me with my stomach. Tr sticking to very bland foods for a few days, try avoiding milk products and see if your gas factor gets better. From what I know it may only be certain types of food that are upsetting your system, I found that all my most favoured foods were the main culprits. Bummer - I just treat myself now and then and suffer the consequenses. I have a major wind factor to the point my kids just laugh at it. I have had to learn that if you cannot laugh at yourself you are going to be pretty miserable with this condition. Talk to your doctor, research the subject, talk to others about it, other sufferers will understand, but sometimes its just nice to talk to a really good friend. Its not the end of the world, no matter how embarrasing it seems now. Trust me. Good luck. Im here if you want to talk anytime. Try2

Try to avoid dairy product and beans. These are gas-producing foods. Good luck!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
