Hi I'm new here. I have had diverticulitis for 2 years. My family doctor doesn't know much about it but sent me for a barium emema and blood tests to confirm it. I take Ciprofoxacin and Metronidazole for 14 days and I get better. I have read all the information on here and have learned a lot. I had no idea what to eat so was eliminating foods that hurt my insides. I found the link to the mayo diet and it will be helpful. In our city it takes 2 1/2 years to 3 years to see a specialist. My doctor is going to send me to the next city where I have a appointment in 7 months.. He wants a colonoscopy done and in our city that takes forever so it will be done in the next city. I had a colonography done and I have polyps in the sigmod which I would think they would want to remove. The frustrating part is the long wait to see specialists and a long wait to have tests done at the hospital.
