I'm in the midst of a wager with a friend of mine. He's looking to healthily add 20lbs and me to lose 20lbs. I'm 37 so the metabolism has slowed. I have stepped up the working out but looking for tips and pointers.

I read that to lose weight you have to burn more than you consume. so if you consume 2,000 calories you have to burn more than that to lose weight.

Thanks for this. I'm figuring I'm going to have to take in moreso like 1300-1500 and burn about 2500/day.

Hit the water! 64oz. a day, start with 16 and build up. It's not the water it all the running to the bathroom that causes the weight loss!! Ha!Ha!

you just need to burn(i read)15% extra of the calories so if you consume 1500 you times that by .15=225 so the total you'd burn is 1725

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
