Here's an idea that my friend and I thought up that you guys might enjoy: We are starting today.
We vow to do some sort of excercise every day, as well as make an honest effort to eat healthily every day. If one day one of us 'screws up' by eating badly, or by not visiting the gym, we will have to put a dollar into a jar. Who ever achieves their goal first wins the jar money.
We will basically be taking weekends off, as well as birthdays, ect but it's not an excuse to go hog wild, just to relax a bit more.
I've also decided, starting today, I am giving up my obsessive calorie counting. I'm taking a different aproach: I'm going to excercise more and just eat healthily, not restrictively. But I mean hey, if it doesn't work I can always try something else.
