So last week, I lost no weight loss for the first time through this process. And last week on Friday, there still was no change. I then realized that the dreaded 7 letter word that people trying to lose weight never want to hear had arrived: PLATEAU! I knew it would happen sooner or later. So after losing 47.05 lbs, it happened. Checking back on my weight loss journals, I've lost 37.25 lbs in 60 days. Thats not bad. But it definitely was not helping my stagnation at the moment. I knew it would arrive but really didn't know how I was going to approach it. Do I switch my cardio from running to stairs? Do I reduce my calories? Do I change my lifting? I really had no clue of what to do since everyone has an opinion of what to do. So I pulled over to a local 7-11 convenience store on my way to SLAA on Friday and did the obvious: I bought a SNickers Ice Cream Bar, a bag of Doritos, a Gatorade, and a huge bag of pistachios. LoL It was time to shock the body. I plowed through most of the stuff except the Doritos since I was stuffed. The way I see it, a plateau is just your body telling you that it has become accustomed to your daily routine. So I figured if I gave it something it has not seen in a while, it might put it into thinking mode. I ate the stuff in my truck and then stepped out in order to throw the trash away. When I looked to my right, I saw an Asian Herbal Remedy place. I then decided it was time to bring in a special guest into my diet permanently: Green Tea. I asked the man for green tea expecting some baggies. Instead he handed me a box full of bark. I realized that THIS stuff was the real thing. He explained how i had to boil the water, drain it, filter the tea, rinse the tea, and then pour it back in the teapot. SOunds liek too much work, but it really isn't. This stuff is the real deal. The price was also. A huge bag that last about 30 days was $30.00. But I figured it was worth it and it has been. My morning shakes consisted of 4 almonds, 2 scoops of casin protein, and 3/4 cups of frozen berries. I removed the slow burning carbs (Berries) and fat (Almonds) and added half a plain white bagel to consume before cardio instead. The fat I will remove for the next 4 to 5 days in order to make my fat cells have to burn up and begin the process all over. After my morning cardio, I used to eat oatmeal and egg whites. I removed the oatmeal and eat the other half of the plain bagel instead. The oatmeal I use now as a mid day snack 30 minutes before lifting for energy. The results since Friday has been a 2.5 lb lost. So the body is reacting. But I really don't think it would have happened if it wasn;t for that damn Snickers Ice Cream Bar LoL So I would suggest to people to try cycling your carbs a little to see what happens.
