5 weeks ago I made a decision to get in shape and lose weight. I even made a bet with my boyfriend- lose 6 lbs in 6 weeks. I thought this was a healthy, realistic goal. I even invested $1K in a personal trainer. Now, 5 weeks in, I've lost ZERO weight and 1 % body fat. I'm ready to give up.
In the last 5 weeks I've been to the gym at LEAST 3 times a week, doing at least 1.5 hours of cardio a week along with strength training with a personal trainer. I cut down my calorie intake to ~1800 calories per day (a big cut for me). I even successfully ran a 10K.
I don't know how to cut out anymore food, because as it is, I'm always feeling hungry. I can't sleep at night because I feel so hungry. 1800 calories is suppose to be more than enough for me, but somehow, it burns away so fast and I feel cravings again.
How do I feel full and break this plateau and actually lose some weight? I don't even know if it's possible at this point, and I'm just ready to give up. This morning I woke up and haven't stopped eating, and now I just feel guilty for giving up on myself and eating so much.
It feels like a no win situation right now. It would be so much easier to keep this up if I actually could see it making a DIFFERENCE.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Also - hug's right muscle does weight more than fat. You've been told you've lost 1% body fat but how did your trainer measure that?
If you are concerned I'd talk to your trainer. Tell them you aren't happy and why! It's their job to get you to your goals, but they may have trouble aguging your success without your honest feedback.
