Everyone keeps talking abut how eating too few calories is bad for you and will actually stunt your weight loss progress by putting your body in starvation mode. So why do the lap band and gastric bypass work so well? I have a neighbor who went through it and lost alot on it. she was telling me how hard it was at first and how little she could eat. Yes, she took supplements but they didn't add calories. Can anyone explain why if it's so negative a process to go so low in calories, why Dr's do it? Even if you have alot to lose, seems like dangerous is dangerous.
