Hey everyone, I'm fairly new here and have only read all the discussions so far. But I just wanted to take a minute to intoduce myself.
I find this site to be really inspiring and think it's great to have a place to come talk to people who are in the same boat as I am!
I've been trying to lose that "freshman 15" (which turned into 30) for the past 2-3 years and jsut haven't been able to get into the right mindset. I think I might finally have it. I'm not starving myself this time, I'm just being very conscious of what I'm eating. I still get huge cravings but I am mostly able to talk myself out of it by telling myself that it's not worth it. But if a craving won't go away I allow myself a little bit because I know how hard I have fallen off of diets before by depriving myself for too long. I have only lost about 3 lbs so far but I actually feel better.
We just found out that my entire family and some friends are going down to North Carolina to rent a house for a week on Lake Norman in June. We all have boats and jet skis and so that means the dreaded BATHING SUIT will be work pretty much 24/7. Talk about motivation!! Especially since my mom and sister both have the bodies of supermodels!
I did about 200 crunches last night. It makes me so proud of myself! And as soon as it warms up my boyfriend and I are going to start riding bikes and walking as much as possible.
In the past year I've had a bf I swear I've gained at least 10 lbs, all we ever do is sit around and watch tv and eat. But since New Years we've been SO much better about it, when we do snack at night it's been fruit.
It feels amazing! Anyways any tips ya'll might have or just encouragement, or just an introduction would be great!
Nice to meet ya'll! I look forward to hearing all your stories and losing with ya!

Kudos! Sounds like you're doing GREAT and know what your strengths and weakneses are. I know some of mine. My biggest problem is as long as it's not open ... I won't open it, but once it's open I binge! I've also been on the other end of the scope where I was barely eating and was close to taking it too far. Gotta find that in-between place!

Hey, Ohio, welcome a-Board! Sounds like you are on the right track. Exercise is a big part of a healthy living style. Your food choices and amounts are another. I find the portion control becomes easier if things are packaged beforehand -- either at the plant or by me! -- into single-serving portions. It is even possible to eat too much fruit, especially things like grapes or dried fruit, so if you put single protions of these into baggies and take just one, you'll be doing even better!

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
