I got a new bike on Friday. I bought it online and had it shipped to the store so I could have them assemble it for me, and then I could ride it home. I did, and learned two things: 1) judging distance by the lenght of a bus ride is dumb. It only took about twenty minutes to get to Walmart by bus, but almos an hour to ride home on the bike. 2) I'm more out of shape than I thought. My thighs and arms were trembling from the exertion, and three days later by butt still hurts from the seat. And to cap it all off,now I can't even ride the bike anywhere! Why? Rain. Lots of it. It's been bone-dry in my part of California for weeks, but as soon as I get something that depends on decent weather, the sky opens up. That ever happen to anybody else, or is it just me?
