I hate all of the planned out meals that they make. They always have foods that I've either never heard of, never eaten, or have to go to the store and browse around for hours to find. And then if they deliver the food to you, or you have to pay for it, its all frozen and expensive.
I think I have tried it all, and finally all I can do is admit that there is only one way to lose the weight and be healthy at the same time. We all know how to eat healthy, so we need to just buckle down and do it.
I know that some write down what you eat in your journal everyday, but I'm going to go ahead and post mine here because I do better when I know people will be watching me.
So, lets post healthy, DO-ABLE food ideas for one another (because a grilled chicken breast meal is only good for so long...), and also if you want to, write down everything we have eaten on a daily basis....WITHOUT LEAVING THE SNACKS OUT.
I just think that if this is a dieting support group then we need to suck it up, and get to doing somehting productive WITH each other, as we support one another.
There is no eaasy way out of the fat suit, there is only one way that is going to take it off AND KEEP IT OFF...and we all know how to do that:
no fried foods
low on carbs
WHOLE wheat instead of white
fruits/veggies
lite mayo/sauce/dressing
careful with the cheese
cut out candybars/chips/cookies, etc
lots of fiber to keep you moving ;)
lots of water
lean meats
........beware of salad dressings, they are loaded with fat grams and calories....
Anyway, lets do this?? What do you guys say?

it is like having toothache all over my body - worst ever. Did way too much on sat night (dancing!) and now I am paying the price for having fun for a change!brain scan result was unclear so repeating it on 27th plus a spinal cord scan which unfortunately will delay my rheumatology appointment even more.I wish someone would just knock me out right now.

I have been here before, a long long time ago and now I am back.Forgive me for not just saying what I want to say, even under a triple dose of antidepressants it is still raw and seeping and I am hesitant at revealing it as at least under the bandages around my heart I don,t have to look at how raw and wounded. My child was cleaved from my heart by his own actions. my child of ten, turning eleven...
this was my plan of attack i need to be accountable for my eating and knowing that others are reading what ive eaten and the dissapointment in myself will be enough to keep me on track
it's not all that hard to make healthy meals that are simple and dont require constant trips to exotic food stores.
instead of salad dressing, i just use a little bit of olive oil and some dried garlic & pepper.
really, i try to keep a stash of low or no-salt herbs and spices. i could never stand just eating plain grilled chicken every night.. but if i can dress it up with lemon pepper, tons of garlic, parsley and dried chili peppers, it becomes a really excellent meal. and it's as easy as shaking some dried stuff onto my food as i cook it.
oooo....we should make a posting of fast food calories....theyre bad!
i say that bc im tempted to eat fast food right now :(
The journal...nah. That's just me. Lol. I see why people like it but it's never been somethng I felt I needed.
i had a bite size butterfinger somewhere in between
i waited a few hours and i had another bite size butterfinger.
i know this is bad.....
I know the garlic bread was bad, and the corn starchy, but I didnt want to shock us into it.
David has actually been semin WANTING to workout lately, so I dont want to mess with that.
Anyway, I lost 2 pounds since Saturday!! I'm happy :)
I love cooking with herbs! Dill and Rosemary are my favorite. I use one or the other on just about everything. Mrs. Dash makes some wonderful salt-free seasonings as well.
Just a note about salad dressings: When you eat salad, you need some fat to unlock all the vitamins and nutrients in the salad. So use fat-free dressing if you must, but make sure you're adding fat somewhere, whether its low fat cheese, a lean meat, or my personal favorite a small handful of sunflower seeds.
Nad, don't worry too much about the bad things you eat as long as you get the good foods in, it's Ok to splurge a little bit.
I am single, so I don't cook. I love the frozen foods frlm:
Smart Ones
Lean Cuisine
Healthy Choice
Weight Watchers
I try to get the meals that have a great combo of protein and veg's. It easy to just micro the meal and no dishes.
Another thing I do (b/c I love ranch dressing, too:
Buy some:
Baby carrots
Cucumbers
Snap Peas
(or whatever floats your boat)
Separate a little of each into a baggy. Then when you have a little healthy meal ready. Just pull out the baggy some ranch dressing and your good to go.
I also cut up some cheese and dip it in the dressing. I LOVE CHEESE!
today wasnt so great, i did really bad. I've been cleaning all day again though, so I've been moving a lot.
But I ate like 4 bite size butterfingers and I had a few potato chips......oh also ate some left over garlic bread from last night along with a couple of small red baked potatos.......
i havent eaten a meal yet today, and right now i am starving my butt off. but i know i shouldnt eat anymore bc it is 9pm and ive eaten bad all day.....
