I hope the boys haven't opened this one up.....anyways, I am currently dieting and exercising. I started weighing myself weekly about 3 weeks ago. And the first 2 weeks I had a 3 pound loss. Well this week I had a 2 pound gain, I know its not a big deal, but I am curious if it is because I started my period. I didn't do anything different this last week so I am confused. Thanks.

Yep! Retaining water you are. Drink up and dont give up cause you'll get a good lose next week if you dont slip up!

On average during the cycle the week before most women are prone to gain 3 pounds dependant on body size, hormones and genetics. don't fret about, during the cycle you actually lose that weight that you've gained (unless you binge out on choco) and possibly more if you stick to your diet plan. Good luck.

I would gain up to 5 pounds when I had a period.

Oh I feel ya! I worked my butt off, eat all the right things, got on the scales sunday and had gained a pound, and I knew better to get on them, because of my period (and omg, I have long miserable periods!!) but I did it anyway, and it completely wrecked my self esteem. So don't give up, hang in there, its just water and it'll come off in a few days!

I have actually come to expect it and actually LIKE it because I tend to drop the extra pounds and then some afterwards. It is hell dealing with sugar cravings though. I know if I eat more calories because I'm indulging because of the cravings, the water weight will be greater too. It comes off in a few days, but still messes with your mind.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
