I started out two weeks ago, bound and determined to make the South Beach Diet work for me. It had worked when I first did it a few years ago. It worked well. I lost weight, and kept it off for a few months. But the minute I tried eating like a normal person (whatever that is), I started back with the cravings, and the weight crept back on. Between then and now, every time I've tried to go back on the diet, I have just given up. This time, I decided, would be different...just like, I suppose, I had done with the other times. It does not seem to be working. I am not losing a bunch of weight, and the cravings do not seem to be going away. The 3-4 day rule for getting rid of cravings does not seem to be applying. I don't know if it's emotional in nature, or what? But yesterday, my cravings would not stop, until I gave into them with a large bowl of ice cream after dinner. I tried praying, I tried walking (they went away while I was walking, but came back when I got home)...I just could not get rid of them. How do you handle cravings?
