I have been on my diet for 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks I did really good and lost 7 lbs all together. I weighed myself this morning, and this past week a gained half a pound.
I didn't cheat at all this past week and I even started exercising. The only thing I can think of is that I am eating too much fruit. I eat it for breakfast with my oatmeal, and for my morning and afternoon snack. Maybe I'm eating too much, because that's the only thing I can think of that I could be doing wrong! Could too much fruit make me gain weight or prevent me from losing?

Usually no more than a 1/2 cup of strawberries, grapes and blueberries and no more than one apple or banana and half a grapefruit.
also drink loads of water or u will retain water....sounds silly but true xxxx
i need to cut down but the fruit helps with my sweet tooth. id rather be eating too much fruit then too much chocolate!
Maybe you should drop on serving of the fruit and replace it with 1/2 banana in the AM and the other 1/2 in the PM.

You sound like you are already keeping track of your intake...using some sort of dailyf food diary...it is especially important when you hit a plateau.
Having said that, the monthly thing is an issue, you are at three weeks and you might have to ride out the 8 days it takes for your body to do its thing and then you will see a reward for your diligence again.
It is true about water, if you drink enough your body won't retain it...uh, unless it is about to go into its monthly cycle.
That calorie counting website is a cool tool. It is a very comprehensive calorie counter that includes restaurant foods.
