I am not one to blame weight gain on something other than myself, but in this particular situation what ever pill I take I will have weight gain from it. I only had about a 5 pound gain anyway...so really I don't think that is too big of a deal.
Seriously, if you are worried about 2 lbs, why don't you just try exercising?
Do some cardio, some jogging, or even some yoga.
Many ppl gain small amounts of weight before their period. It's usually just water weight that goes away a day or two after their period. Drink plenty of water and exercise and it will help with this water weight gain. IF you still feel the pill is the problem perhaps talk to the dr that prescribed them for you.
My dr told me that there is no evidence that the pill caused any of my weight. It was more likely bad eating habits.
