Quality of calories should always be considered when counting total calories. Your most nutritious meals and snacks should be given higher priority. Almonds are very high quality, nutritious food. If it is difficult to include almonds in your diet without exceeding your total calories, look for low-quality food (high carb processed food) to eliminate. Almonds make an excellent replacement for 'nutrition' energy bars that are often high in either sugar, carbs, or fat(or all three).
