Just found out about Shiratiki noodles; they are wonderful - don't have a taste of their own (made from tofu), but pick up flavors of foods they are mixed with. A whole package, 8 oz., has only 40 calories & 6 carbs. Absolutely a wonderful new food for me. They have to be refrigerated & cannot be frozen. Publix supermarkets carry them in where they put tofu products in the produce section or I found online sites to order them from. I drain & rinse & drop into boiling water for 2 minutes & they are ready to eat - hot or chill them in a salad or whatever. Great substitute for pasta or noodles in soup, etc. Read about them online & try them. Great to fill up without adding many calories; I'm on low-carb & these are perfect on it.
