I don't know if any of you lost weight before you were diagnosed with ESRD or whatever your kidney failure is, did any of you lose weight BEFORE you got diagnosed from being so sick? Well, I did....I lost 20 pounds before being diagnosed because I was so sick and barely ate anything and what I did eat, it came right back up or out. *smile* Anyways, I have been on dialysis now for 16 months now and UNFORTUNATELY gained ALL my weight back (and more) and I am sooooo frustrated of my weight gain. I had jeans given to me while I was still sick and now have about 7 pairs of jeans that I can no longer wear and I looked better when I lost my weight even tho, yes, I know it was not the healthy way to have lost it. Anyway, my question to any of you, has any of you gained weight since you have gotten on dialysis? If so, have you tried to get it back off? If so, how did you get it off? I did talk to my dietician and she gave me a few "pointers" but me being a VERY impatient person, I was wondering if any of you have taken any diet pills? If so, which ones did you take? Also, yes, I am going to consult with my kidney doctor but I just want to hear from any of you/patients who may be dealing with the same thing? I also realize it is probably not healthy for dialysis patients to even take diet pills but I just want to hear of other people's experiences/thoughts/advice. Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some insight on this topic.

I've done physical therapy, muscle relaxers, Amitriptyline, Nortryptiline, desipramine.....narcotics... So I decided to go to a spine specialist and they have me on Gabapentin. Its been two weeks and it did nothing for my lumbar ever... but it did seem to help my cervical and arm/hand pain...
