Dialysis Support Group
Dialysis is a type of renal replacement therapy which is used to provide an artificial replacement for lost kidney function due to renal failure. It is a life support treatment and does not treat any kidney diseases. Dialysis may be used for very sick patients who have suddenly lost their kidney function or for quite stable patients who have permanently lost their kidney...
My husband is on dialysis and he used to get cramps a lot. He was taking quinine but the doctor took him off of it. She then told him to try magnesium oxide. He's had only a few episodes of cramping in the past few months since taking them. He takes one 400 mg tablet (241.3 Elemental Magnesium) twice a day and I think he takes one when he is being dialyzed. If you decide to try this, You should probably check with your doctor to make sure it's okay that you take these. I hope this helps.

When the FDA banned quinine for relieving muscle cramps it left hemodialysis patients with few options to ease their suffering. Recently my company developed a solution that might interest you. Because the rules governing DailyStrength prohibit anything remotely commercial, I won't discuss it in detail here. Just Google for "Quellitall". I would be happy to answer any questions in private.
