Diabetes Type 2 Support Group

Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage such as eye and kidney damage.

Next week I am starting "Symlin"...wanted to see if anyone else has used it. If so...what was your treatment like ???

I was on symlin for 3 months and had to stop taking it. I ended up with my blood sugar going higher than before. After being on it for a month I began having diahreea. I did lose 15 pounds. My doctor took me off of it and put me on actos. The diarheea stopped and my sugars went down quite a bit. i also take metformin and insulin. i was able to cut down on the insulin also. i guess it wasnt for me. Good luck!

    I have cancer

I had to have a lung biopsy, and I have cancer. A very rare form that doesn't have any standard treatment. There just isn't a lot of case history for this. It is epithelioid hemangio endothelioma. The cancer support group doesn't talk every day. I can understand why. I'm waiting for the oncologist to call back for an appointment, and will hear in the next few days. Who knew. Ha!

    Support from family

It's so hard dealing with pain especially when you don't get any support from the person who your supposed to be closest to. So hard when your trying to deal with pain and that person treats you worse than the pain. Having hard time understanding why. unless you are having a good Day you are treated like crap and they make you feel worthless.
