My Mom's diabetes caused her stroke. She was diagnosed with diabetes about 8 yrs ago. She was diagnosed with Brain Cancer 2 years ago.
One day before Easter I took my Mom to the hospital for a Stroke. She is home now. The stroke was caused because of diabetes.
She wants to eat cookies, cake, pasta, butter and everything bad. If she wants to give up I am pissed. I talked to her about this 2 years ago. How do you make a diabetic change there life. I say hell if you want to kill yourself I will do it with you....If holding a gun to myself will help her realize. I will do it. I would never take the chicken shit way out but I don't know what to do to get through to my Mom.

hi,vpstar!so very sorry about your mom!some people are just plain stubborn.or,perhaps, she is eating junk food to deal with stress-lots of folks do that.she's not necessarily giving up-she's probably been eating this way her whole life.it's hard to change habits-no matter how unhealthy they may be.diabetics CAN eat those things-in moderation.take care, trish
