Hi, I had blood work last week and received a phone call from the nurse on Friday. She said my glucose levels were \"very very high\" and \"You are a diabetic\" She told me I needed to come in for an A1C test as soon as I could. She said to eat a normal lunch, wait two hours and come in for a blood test. I did that and went to the office, checked in at the desk, told them verbally and in writing on their little form what I was there for. I waited 20 min in the waiting room and the lab tech said it was too long. They had also wanted me there in the morning for a fasting blood test but neglected to mention that. I called their office this afternoon and asked if I could go ahead and make an appointment with the doctor and would get the test done in the meantime. They wouldn\'t let me make an appointment even. I\'m worried that it could be a month or more before I get to talk to any doctor about this. Is this kind of experience normal? Do I find another doctor and start over? I am a teacher and can\'t take off on a whim. I\'d love suggestions. PLEASE!
