Help! What do you eat? I'm supposed to eventually attend a class, but one isn't on the schedule yet. I've read such conflicting information. I've looked online at diets and they seem to conflict. Even what I've read from ADA looks conflicting to me because sometimes they talk about choosing from groups and sometimes carbs in 15 carb units. What I'm doing now is eating no more than 150 carbs a day, spread out between 3 meals and one evening snack if hungry. I'm eating almost all complex carbs and keeping under 1400 calories per day. I read this weekend that now diabetics are encouraged to eat more complex carbs than they used to be allowed. I lost a great deal of weight years ago eating all the complex carbs I wanted along with other foods as long as they were less than 12% fat. Exercise was also a large part of this diet. Any ideas how this would work? With this metformin so far at least I'm not hungry. Any suggestions would be helpful.
