Hello all! I hope everyone is well. I am new to this forum and I am searching for some ideas and support. I am getting really tired of this disease and in particular, this current bout with non stop high blood sugar. Currently, for me, nothing is working. They say that pain can cause of high blood sugar and I need surgery on my back as a prior fusion has worn out. This is very painful. If that is true, how can anyone control their blood sugar effectively under these circumstances? I have to sit somewhat still and that causes my blood sugar to rise. I try to exercise to lower blood sugar and I wind up on the couch for long periods of time in more pain. The pain has caused my blood sugar to rise. The sitting on couch causes it to rise farther. I'm taking insulin all along but blood sugar is still high. Now I have to exercise to lower blood sugar again. Its an endless circle. The diet could always be better but I'm eating approx. 1500 calories a day as I do track this. For me, that is not much, but any less, I wind up with the shakes. All this makes working, and just functioning day to day very difficult. I'm hoping to participate in this support group for a long period of time in hopes of getting some better ideas than I currently have. Maybe someday, I can return the favor to another individual who participates here. Otherwise, I wish everybody a Great Day!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
