Please help! I'm a mom of a beautful 12 year old daughter who became Type 1 diabetic at the tender age of 23 months....we've fought the fight and have the diabetes under great control and she has been on the pump for 5 years now....just Friday 2/15 the docs found an over active thyroid during her routine blood studies and has put her on Methnazole? This could be Graves Disease....we'll know later today or tomorrow....the doc said Type 1 and Graves can go hand and hand because they are both autoimmune disorders.....has anyone had this happen??? We are faced with completely destorying her thyroid to stop the hyperactivity but there are so many other variables to consider....I don't want to have to have my baby drink some poison that will kill a part of her (thyroid) the diabetes was a full enough plate.....please any advice or thoughts?
