My mother has been a diabetic for 39 years and in reasonably good health. This morning my father had to call an ambulance because she went into a coma with a blood sugar of 18. Luckily she woke up and was sent home after her body temp went back up (it dropped to about 91 degrees). Being a diabetic for 28 years myself, this is just an awful reminder just how careful we need to be.
