A young Juv. Diabetic was killed on the Garden State Parkway in a car accident on 1/25/06 9a.m. I did not know her personally but, my cousin is a paramedic and she was a coworker's wife. An investigation is going on and I think they suspect "Insulin Shock". She went off the parkway and flipped her vehicle only to smash into a tree. I found out that she took Lantus and a fast-acting insulin. I am on the same thing and I have had insulin shock with no prior warning. I have actually gone into shock while eating..all this happened when I was starting on Lantus and getting off of Humalin N. This kind of thing really concerns me. I find it hard to believe that she would take insulin and not eat. I was informed that she had IDDM most of her life. I am going to find out if she had an insulin pump. This should be a wake up call to all of us on insulin. We can not slack off...ever!!!!!!!!!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
