As some of the members may already be aware, a recent study (Diabetes Care 2006;2:2452-6) produced data supporting recommendations of regular screening for celiac disease in children with type 1 diabetes. Some of the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment are improvement in growth parameters and symptom relief.

My 4 year old got diagnosed with diabetes last Cct (2005) and with celiac this September. I think that it has been harder to adjust to Celiac, but dealing with both so close to each other has been hard.
