I had a growth there myself. It was not cancerous, but they opted to remove it any way. I even went in for a "mammogram", although I preferred to call it a man-oh-gram! It was same day surgery to have it removed, but I don't remember much about it. Other than getting hit in the surgical site at a soccer event!

Thanks Pepper, My appointment with the consultant isnt until January, which doesnt sound to far away but seems and age away at the mo.
I have my fingers crossed its just a cist.

If they're very concerned about it they'd have you there much sooner than January, which is definitely a good sign.

My Mum isn't a bloke, for the record, but she had lumps on her boobs during the summer and they turned out to be harmless cysts.

Try not to worry too much Baz.. easier said than done..

I remember being down over this, and worried, and all the other things. So yes, hang tight. Or lose, what ever works for you. ANd like Vixie says, if the doctors were really worried about it you would have been in ASAP.

baz like the others said if they were thinking it was anything really serious they would have started some kind of treatment right away.i am not going to tell you not to worry but maybe if you can put it in prospective that it will all be okay.good luck to you

best of luck! and yeah, i agree with the others, if the docs were really worried, they'd want you in now, not in a month. i can only imagine how hard it is to not think of the "what ifs" but try to relax a little enjoy christmas.

Baz.. you would be seen within a week if they thought it was cancer.. it is policy. I was seen the next day.
It could be a blockage a cyst or a fibroadenoma...
messga me if you want but the size and feel would be the same as in a woman
it is hardly ever painful if it is cancer..
try not to worry Hon...it's probably not even going to be operated on

I know the majority of these cases are benign. But it's still hassle going for an op, etc.

I had a scare further south recently.. so far docs think its nothing.. so do I..so let's hope the same luck is returned to you. I can't offer info, I'm dealt in AML and erm, testicular cancer only.

they would have had u in the hospital asap, if they were worried. almost all of these...in women...as well as men...are fibroids. harmless...they either watch 'em or remove 'em.
they have a SLIGHT potential to be a problem.

try not to worry...ok? this is more common than people know. if you're really worried...perhaps u can get your appt. moved up?

My brother had a lump that had to be removed a few years back.
It was not cancerous. When I asked a doctor neighbor about men having lumps in their chest/breast area, the first thing she asked me is if he was a drinker.
At the time he drank whiskey regularly. She said that men often get either lumps in their chest or a big, red nose if they drink too much.
I don't know if this relates to your situation or not but if you drink, you'd better stop, because the doc said that's one of the signs it is doing a real number on a man's health.
