Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

What time of day you take your meds can make a difference:
I went to my Dr.s appt. Thurs. and he wanted to cut back my Cymbalta, because I was so depressed. Why he wanted to cut back my antidepressant because I was so depressed, I have no idea. Maybe HE needs antidepressants!!! But I am glad I didn't......I was having trouble waking up in the morning, having to wait an hour or two or more, for
the fog in my mind to lift, all the while thinking of cutting myself, and in a lot of pain.
And by coincidence, took my Cymbalta last night instead of in the morning like I usually do, and I woke up with a clear mind.
So for anyone who isn't specifically directed to take their meds at a certain time of day, try that if you're having trouble getting up and going in the AM.

My doctor recommended that I take mine at night because they might make me drowsy. I take Lexapro. They do help me sleep better, and I am not groggy in the morning.

I always try to take mine when I get, partly because I feel like they'll work best that way, partly because if I don't I'm liable to forget. :(

im on remeron and i take it at night because it has a seditive effect.....different meds work differently and therefore should be taken as your doctor recommends, why your doctor wanted to cut your meds down when you were depressed is beyond me, you did the right thing by taking them at a different time and keeping the dose the same......maybe you should think about changing doctors!!!!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
