I wanted to post something fun for once, and I got the idea from a conversation my mother and I had over the weekend. We were talking about how I got my nicknames.
I was named Danielle, so my Dad could call me Dani. He wanted his little girl to have a name that ended in an "I" and wanted to name me Randi. My mother said, we are not naming her that, instead we'll name her Danielle and you can call her Dani. Hence my nickname. Well, Dani is only on of many nicknames I've had over the years. I was pistach (Cajun for little peanut) by my Dad. Petite catin (Cajun for little doll) was bestowed upon me by my Pae Pae because I was really tiny and had small facial features as a child. I was called Nelly Bell, by my Maw Maw, Aunt, and cousins. My mom however, tried to put a stop to that one because she thought it would be terrible if I was called Nell from that one. Well I am actually called Nell by them every now and then, but because my mom was so insistent on trying to end that one, they came up with another one: Dani Fanny. I looked at my mom and said, I'd take Nell (which I really like in fact) over Dani Fanny any day! So, that's what I am lovingly called by my family. And sometimes, it's just Fanny. Why didn't my mom just stick with Nell? lol!
So, I want to know. What are your nicknames? How did you get them? Do you love them? Hate them? Tell me your story!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I don't mind any of those, the one that got me though was a lot of people called me 'Joey' in middle school and after a while it got old being told I wasn't a baby kangaroo and several people would look at me funny because I wasn't a boy.
Batman - I have had a trenchcoat every year since I was fourteen and when I was 17 some lads in my street saw me running for the bus and began singing the themetune at me.

I was a manager at a small electronics store and the only one who new anything about anything in there... and this really fun old man [like 90... seriously] who didn't give a shit about new age laws [read: he walked in smoking a fat cigar] would always get someone who didn't know anything and I'd hear, "Get me the General" or "Is the General here?" .... gooood times.
