I was talking yesterday about for a month I've been happy, then I just crash & become suicidal. Some chick mentioned that it might be bipolar, but I'm confused to exactly what that means. I don't have highs, just days when I'm not so depressed. It just flip-flops. Does anyone know about bipolar?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

It is usually a swing from severe depression to mania - which usually involves spending too much, increased sex drive, less need for sleep and food, overdoing anything that feels good - like alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc. You may do more risky things than you usuaually do.
Mania is usaully associated with being euphoric and unusually happy or feeling very well - but it also may include being aggressive and irritable, and is not always a fun ride.
The distinction between bipolar disorder and major depression is, experiencing two seperate extreme moods.
There is also another bbreakdown - Bipolar I, which is more intense than Bipolar II.
With bipolar I, people often land in jail, lose their jobs, relationships, and/or are hospitalized frequently. It is obvious and unaviodable that there is a severe problem.
With bipolar II, it is not quite as apparent, especially with the person who has it. They often forget they had a manic phase when they become depressed again, and their families and friends and coworkers are more likely to recognize their mood swings than they are.
I have some more info if you'd like, just message me, and I'll give it to you, including some online tests you can take to get a better idea. Not a diagnosis, but would be useful to your Dr. to print them out and show them to your Dr.
