Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Some people complain of being unhappy here. Thats they dont find the board helpful.
Perhaps you had differant expectations but this is a community. If you need help, ask for it, if you can give help give it. If you join try to join in if you dont then your feedback from others may not be very insightful or warm as they dont know you.
If your finding the board unhelpful after giving it a real chance, and trying it at differant times of the day.... there are other sites, other communities that you may feel more comfortable in.
But dont simply moan and complain because your not getting what you want.
We need to work together as a team and take the highs with the lows.
Remember people here are depressed, theyre often lonely, low and suicidal. They may lash out verbally if theyre hurting, they may be flippant or crude in order to express whats inside.
There may be threads that seem off topic but if it helps someone, anyone then whats the harm if theyre clearly labelled?
There will be fun threads as part of getting better is being able to laugh.
Acceptance of yourself and others will be hard but again if you cannot get what you need after really trying then there are other places to go.
This is not meant to offend but I will be frank and speak my mind.
I hope all of you find the help you need.
I for one love this site and a lot of the members on it.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

we are a community made up of many real people, with real emotions. just like in the real world, in real life.
this site is not a magical place where your miseries/illnesses will just disappear.
if you cant handle some of the topics/posts that are listed, have the control to not get involved and bite your tongue. not every post is for everyone. let it go. let the other people on here do whats good for them and get the support they need.
with all respect,
me
