ok so Ive been on trazadone as long as Ive been on Paxil, almost a year, and I LOVE my Paxil, the Trazadone though, I can NOT sleep without it, but when I take it I have what I like to call Traz Dreamz, which are NEVER good.
Taking Trazadone to sleep has given me nightmares I couldnt wake up out of, nightmares that if I DID wake out of I started right where I left off, waking with panic attacks 2- times a night, getting up to use the bathroom and finding out the next morning I peed in the closet (i really did OMFG), waking up saying things (ill be saying something in the dream and before I am conciously awake keep talking...this morning i was singing black and white by micheal jackson my boyfriend said) and of course the fun of not being able to get up with an alarm, sleeping too late and ooo traz hangover when i finally do wake...
Anyone else taking Trazadone, is this just my reaction to it? Anyone on some other sleeping med that can give me advice?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

that's what I take now instead of my trazadone
25 mg Paxil CR and then Remeron at night so I can sleep and also NOT have panic attacks
My dreams are extremely vivid and disturbing when I take Traz! I don't think I'd call them nightmares, but they're certainly not enjoyable. I also wake up with a headache, like I got my ass kicked the night before. Not fun. I'd like a non addictive alternative...
What's the sleep aid with the beaver and Abe Lincoln in the commercial? I want to avoid that drug too: talk about creepy!
Mirtazapine is an antidepressant introduced by Organon International in 1996 used for the treatment of moderate to severe depression. Mirtazapine has a tetracyclic chemical structure and is classified as a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). It is the only tetracyclic antidepressant that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat depression. Because of its unique pharmacologic profile, mirtazapine is virtually devoid of anticholinergic effects, serotonin-related side effects,[1] and adrenergic side effects (orthostatic hypotension and sexual dysfunction). Antihistaminic side effects of drowsiness and weight gain are prominent. It is most useful as an add on medication to enhance the effectiveness of agents such as duloxetine and venlafaxine in severe and treatment resistant depression. Mirtazapine is relatively safe if an overdose is taken.[2]
