We, as a collective on DS, are here to give you advice, support, hugs, and care. We try our hardest every day (except for the occasional 'tard days when everyone is itching for a fight, but human is thy name) to do so. And I for one don't consider it a burden. If it was I would bother to hang around. I like to help.
But we are no replacement for professional help or self medication. I self medicate, because I got fed up with my "professionals". Natural medicine, yoga, meditation, and talking here have helped me make marvelous strides, but not without also making major changes to my life and living situation. Now, if I have a bad day, I boo hoo a bit and I am honestly over it. I cherish the support I get. It's okay to have bad days. We all do. But some of you are in very bad spots and need more help than we can give. Ultimately it's completely in your hands to get that help. We will cheer you on. We will comfort you on your bad days. We will smile with you when you feel better.
So please, to those that applies to, because we love you, start looking into getting help. There are so many options, even for those of us without insurance. Life has SO many options. Depression is like wearing blinders. You must take them off to see the whole world is laid out before you and that so many people care about you. It's your life. Don't let anyone or anything take your happiness from you. Happiness is everyone's birthright. There is no "worthy" or "unworthy". It's there for you like the air you breathe. Seek it out. It's wondering where you are.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
great post STAR! you did a wonderful job here.
You're brilliant and I thank you so much for posting this. It's important for those in need to know they have support here, but also to know that DS is just one of the tools needed.
