Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I couldn't find a community for discussing suggested improvements to Daily Strength, so I'm putting this idea here in this very popular community (approaching 14 thousand members) where there are bound to be many people with thoughts on the topic.
I'm wondering how Daily Strength could have communities within communities. Here's an example. To me an ideal situation for a person from Canada with depression would be to join both this worldwide community for depression, and a Canadian community for depression. That way you would get the best of both worlds - you get to share with the large numbers and the wide experience of the world community, and you get the local knowledge and local support specific to Canada in the Canadian community (put whatever country you come from in this example).
Daily Strength could set up separate communities for Canadians (and other countries) with depression. But perhaps a better way would be for members of the world community to be able to click on a "Canadians" button, and then only threads and posts from members registered as Canadians would be shown.
Any thoughts anyone?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
"i like that i'm lost among people everywhere here" - I agree ayngeL that's a valuable aspect of these communities - anyonymous unless we choose not to be.
"imagine if u found owt u were chattin 2 ur next door neighbour or somethin ?! " - ha ha toocoolforfairyschool - it could be even worse - could be someone in your own house lol.

I think the search facility is still being optimised - it may be some time yet before it is as efficient as Google. One can use Google to search Daily Strength using this forumla
eg depression + Australia site:dailystrength.org but I presume it will only find items posted since it last spidered the site.
